THE CHALLENGE
No Margin for Downtime
A global technology leader needed to run more than 50 sites on a single platform — and to put one of them through a worldwide product launch where any outage would be visible to millions and impossible to walk back. Standard hosting tolerances weren’t the assignment. The launch demanded a level of redundancy engineered specifically for it.
The mandate was twofold: consolidate dozens of properties onto infrastructure that could be managed as one, and harden the launch property to a tier where downtime simply wasn’t an option.
THE STRATEGY
One Platform, Engineered Redundancy
We consolidated the portfolio onto one managed platform, then engineered a dedicated redundancy tier for the launch property. Three components carried the build.
Platform Consolidation
Brought 50+ properties onto a single managed platform — one place to deploy, secure, monitor, and update, instead of a sprawl of disconnected sites.
Custom Redundancy Tier
Engineered a dedicated failover and redundancy architecture for the launch property — a tier built specifically to carry a zero-tolerance global event.
Monitoring & Incident Response
Stood up real-time monitoring and a rehearsed incident-response process so problems were caught and resolved before they ever reached a visitor.
THE PROOF
What the Nines Actually Mean
Each “nine” of uptime is an order of magnitude less downtime per year. The launch property was engineered to a five-nines tier — roughly five minutes of allowable downtime across an entire year.
Five-nines was a custom-engineered redundancy tier built for this specific zero-tolerance launch — not a standing guarantee. RADX’s standard managed-hosting tier targets 99.99% on Google Cloud infrastructure. Bars show allowable annual downtime, drawn to scale.

HOW IT WORKS
How the Build Works
01
Portfolio Audit
Mapped all 50+ properties, their dependencies, and their traffic profiles to plan a clean consolidation.
02
Platform Migration
Moved the portfolio onto one managed platform with standardized deployment, security, and monitoring.
03
Redundancy Engineering
Designed and built the custom failover tier for the launch property, then load-tested it against launch-day conditions.
04
Launch Operations
Ran real-time monitoring and rehearsed incident response through the launch window, keeping the property continuously available.
Sprawl vs. One Platform
Scattered Hosting
— Dozens of disconnected environments
— Inconsistent security and updates
— No unified monitoring
— Redundancy bolted on after the fact
— Incidents found by visitors first
Why This Infrastructure Logic Matters
One Platform, One Place to Look
Consolidating 50+ properties onto one managed platform means a single, consistent surface to secure, monitor, and update — not dozens of environments drifting out of sync.
Redundancy Is a Design Choice
Five-nines isn’t something you buy off a shelf; it’s engineered for a specific event. The right tier is scoped to what the moment actually demands.
The Same Rigor Scales Down
The discipline that carries a global launch — monitoring, failover, rehearsed response — is the same discipline that keeps a manufacturer’s quote form online during a traffic spike.
Build on Infrastructure That Holds
